Research Initiatives Bangladesh (RIB) is a research-based, non-profit organization committed to promoting human rights, social justice, accountable governance, and inclusive development in Bangladesh. Established as a registered research organization, RIB works closely with marginalized and disadvantaged communities to generate knowledge, strengthen participation, and support evidence-based social change.

RIB places communities at the centre of its research and development practice. Through Participatory Action Research (PAR), Gonogobeshona, community engagement, and rights-based approaches, RIB works with people whose voices and experiences are often underrepresented in formal policy and decisionmaking processes.

Over the years, RIB has worked with more than 32 marginalized and socially excluded communities, addressing issues including poverty alleviation, Right to Information (RTI), climate change and organic farming, gender equality and women’s rights, freedom of religion or belief (FoRB), social cohesion, migration and statelessness, climate-induced displacement, early childhood learnings and access to public services.

RIB’s approach combines research, community action, capacity development, advocacy, and policy engagement to help transform locally generated knowledge into meaningful institutional and social change
